PAMF Obstetrics
As a group of experienced, board-certified physicians, we believe in delivering high-quality, personalized care to our patients. Each pregnancy is unique, whether it’s your first or you are an experienced parent. We individualize our care to you and your baby. Our care team includes obstetricians, nurse practitioners, nurses, ultrasonographers, lactation consultants, maternal-fetal medicine physicians, pediatricians – all working together to guide you through a healthy pregnancy and delivery.
We offer full scope obstetrical care and deliver babies at many hospitals around the Bay Area including Stanford Children’s Hospital.

When should I see the doctor?
Once you have chosen your obstetrician, call their office to schedule the first appointment. This is usually around 6-8 weeks of gestation.

How often do I come to the OB clinic for check-ups?
You will be seen for your first visit between 6-8+ weeks gestation and then:

Every 4-6 weeks until 28 weeks gestation

Every 2-3 weeks until 36 weeks gestation
-
Every week until delivery (delivery is usually 38-41 weeks gestation)

Did you know?
Gestational age estimates how far along you are in your pregnancy. It can be determined from the first day of your last menstrual period, from your embryo transfer, or by ultrasound.

Overview of Prenatal Care

After your first visit in our office, here’s what to expect:

Schedule your next prenatal appointment with the nurse practitioner in 4 weeks. At this appointment, please bring your completed questionnaire and review your genetic screening options prior to this appointment.

The Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) department will contact you to schedule two ultrasounds. The first one is an early anatomy ultrasound at 10-14 weeks. The second one is a detailed anatomy ultrasound at 18-20 weeks. If they have not contacted you within 7 days, you can reach the MFM department: 650-404-8210 to schedule your appointment.
